It can be made in many different weights of yarn to any size desired.Size: Make in any size.A 36" to 40" square in lace weight makes a warm shoulder shawl.Create a warmer wrap or baby blanket in fingering or sport yarn.In DK, a 40"- 48" square is a great lap robe and a 50"- 60" square a cozy afghan.Yarn Requirements: These are the yardages, finished blocked sizes and needle sizes that were used for the samples shown.1. Lace weight: Knit on size 6 (4mm) needle to a size of 38" it used 900 yds (823m).2. Fingering weight (purple): Knit on size 7 (4.5mm) needle to a size of 48" it used 1200 yds (1097m).3. Sport weight (rose baby blanket): Shown in sport wt alpaca from. Knit on size 8 (5mm) needle to a size of 42" it used 800 yds (731m).4. DK weight (handpainted throw): Knit on size 10 (6mm) needle to a size of 50" it used 860 yds (786m).
