Design by Bev GaleskasOur lightweight felt hat offers a choice of three sizes and two brim variations.  Made in a single strand of worsted weight, it is great for handpainted yarns.Three Sizes: Child (adult small, adult large).  The exact finished size is determined by the amount of felting and the form used for blocking. This can be a head form, bowl or ball.  Choose one that is just slightly larger than recipient's head measurement.Yarn Requirements: Approximately 250 (300, 340) yards (230, 277, 314 meters) of worsted weight wool or wool / mohair blend for the wide brim version. Approximately 30 (40, 45) yards (28, 36, 42 meters) less for the narrow brim hat.  Use only wool, mohair, alpaca or blends of these that will felt to a firm fabric.Caution: To avoid disappointment always test felt a sample of your yarn before starting a project.
