Merino Wool Yarn

Merino wool yarn is loved for its softness. Merino fibers are much finer than ordinary wool, so it feels gentle next to the skin and is a favorite for sweaters, hats, cowls and baby knits. Merino is also breathable, warm without bulk, and has a natural springiness that shows off stitch patterns beautifully.

Superwash or not? Superwash merino is treated so it can go in the washing machine, which makes it great for socks, baby items and gifts. Untreated merino has a slightly loftier, airier feel and should be hand washed.
