Chained Melody (Fiber Trends 456x) is a bulky vest knitting pattern by Bev Galeskas, designed to show off a hand-painted or variegated yarn. The centre back and front panels are knit first in a slip-stitch chain pattern in a contrast colour, then the sides are picked up and knit out in the main colour, and the vest is finished with garter-stitch borders and three buttons. It is a quick knit in bulky yarn, sized for a 41" to 51" chest.
The vests shown pair a solid main colour with a handpainted contrast. The pattern is worked flat on circular needles to hold the long rows, but straight needles also work for the side panels.
