Heart Felt Expressions Pattern FT223 Fiber Trends

Heart Felt Expressions is a felting pattern by Evelyn A. Clark for Fiber Trends (FT223) for heart-shaped baskets, trays and coasters. It was inspired by M'Lyn Walther's novelty bowls in Spin Off (Summer 2003).

The pieces are knit in the round on large needles and felted. Each top can be finished with a band of I-cord or picots.

• Craft: Knitting and felting
• Finished size: Varies with yarn: baskets about 5" across × 2" deep in worsted, 7" × 2" in bulky; coasters match the basket base
• Yarn: Any yarn that felts to a firm fabric, worsted or bulky: basket 70–90 yds; tray 60–70 yds; coasters 35–45 yds
• Needles: 16" (40 cm) circular: US 10 or 10½ (6 or 6.5 mm) for worsted; US 11 or 13 (7 or 8 mm) for bulky
• Format: Printed pattern

Good for: quick felted gifts from small amounts of wool.
